The beginning is the most impossible part. I made this collage out of words from the original (translated) text, sometimes in the right order, sometimes not, stirred among snatches of conversations that were on my mind when I was engaging with this text as a teacher. Rather than trying to visually distinguish the many voices in this garbled conversation, I let them be a tumble--something that could echo how I experienced this period in my life, and my feelings about starting out on the journey that is Symposium.
